How to give finish to your Hardwood Floor?

Refinishing your Hardwood floors isn't that big a task nowadays. Few steps and you are all set. So, here are Six Steps to give Finish to your Hardwood floors

1) Clean the floor with a Hardwood Floor Cleaner

First, clean the entire furniture and spray the cleaner all over it or use water and vinegar spray in the ratio 10:1 respectively.

Then mop the floor with a cloth wrapped around the end of the mop. Also, close the doors and window of the room to keep away the incoming dust in the room you're sanding.

2) Prepare the perimeter

Hand sand the entire room with the help of 180-grit sandpaper. Rub with the grain 4 to 6 inches out from the baseboard, until the finish dulls and a powder forms.

3) Scuff-sand the floor finishing

Use a dust mask and stick on the buffing pad to the buffer. It becomes easy to buffer since the olf finish of the hardwood floor turns into powder.

4) Vaccum and tack

Leave the room vacant for 8 to 10 minutes so that the powder can settle properly.

5) Cut in along the edges

Cover your shoes with booties and your nose and mouth with a respirator for safety purposes.

Lastly, stop after 10 minutes and go to the next step.

6.) Roll Out the Poly

As much as you can spread in 10 minutes, pour out a nice quantity of about 1-inch wide stripe of finish.

Use a roller and roll out the finish.

After ten minutes roll out the finish again and repeat it after 10 minutes until the floor is covered.

Wait for 3 hours at least before recoating. Finally, your refinish is ready and you may place the furniture after one week.
